The British pendulum towards the Jewish homeland swung drastically from endorsing the Balfour Declaration in 1917 to lobbing off 78% of the land to create Jordan, and the issuance of the antisemitic White Papers.
Ido Reif, in great detail and mastery of history, delves into the reasons behind the actions of the British, the conditions Jews had to live under, and how the British aided and abetted the Arab population through overtly antisemitic policies during the numerous riots against Jews. However, most damning is the British policies which directly implicated their role in the Holocaust.
